I've listened to a number of podcasts from Magnatune and I think they are great. When you buy something 50% of the amount you pay goes directly to the musicians. They have a huge catalog and you can download and listen to music and then decide if you want to buy it.

I have a bunch of music stored using FLAC, which I generally think compresses better than ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) anyway. I found a great project that installs all the dependencies on Mac OS X:

Fluke for Mac

It is too bad Apple doesn't embrace free standards and make their software compatible by default.

Rack Middleware Competition

<http://coderack.org> is currently having a middleware competition. All you have to do is write some middleware and you can win stuff!

Here are some of my favories:

	* Rack::Pot
	* InlineUploader
	* Rack::RequestStatisticsTracker

I hope to submit something soon!

I have been producing some rack middleware which generates statistics and I am looking at options for visualization. I found two good lists of options:

	* 16 USable CSS Graph and Bar Chart Tutorials and Techniques
	* PlotKit (Canvas based graphing)
